When I was about 16 going on 17 I realized that life was quite interesting.People started saying things and they were actually making sense.Things would happen that would start a chain reaction that later in life would end in some sort of significant way and I would declare the first event as foreshadow for the rest of my life.Unfortunately life is not a book, nor is it a movie. But if people would just start to write down the things that happened in their life and add a slight twist to the story, then maybe life could be a book or a movie. So I decided to set out and do just that, narrate my life.It might sound weird, or even egotistical, but like the show Scrubs, life just seems more "sitcom-ish" if you give everything that happens a monologue.Plots will reveal themselves, Corruption will come into play, and as I mentioned earlier, foreshadowing will occur when you add some form of narration to your life. For those of you who might not know what foreshadowing is, the dictionary definition of foreshadowing is- To present an indication or a suggestion of beforehand.Indistinctly prophetic, meaning something will happen that will be symbolic to what's to come.Think about the movie The Sixth Sense. This whole movie is one big foreshadow after another.(If you haven't seen the movie yet I'm sorry but this probably will ruin the movie for you) There's a scene where Cole is laying in a bed and the psychiatrist, Dr. Crowe, is sitting there with him.Cole tells him, "I see dead people."This is a prime example of foreshadowing.Cole is the only one who sees Dr. Crowe, and if we've been paying attention we would know that.Crowe's sitting in the living room with Cole's mother, and Cole walks in...The mother doesn't even notice the psychiatrist. All these things are there to tell us something is coming up...Dr Crowe is dead and just doesn't know it yet. That's foreshadowing.Ok so know that you all know what foreshadowing is I can begin. But where do I begin? Here I am its 11:26 PM and its 28 degrees outside and I'm sitting here on my couch with my laptop eating ice cream.I don't even eat ice cream in the summer but here it is end of January and I'm eating Ice cream. Its pretty good ice cream though if that matters.I guess I could start with where my inspiration to write this book came from.?Today I was talking to an old friend of mine and I was explaining something that happened in my life (which I will get to later) and she told me that "it must be nice to live a story book life".(Input foreshadow here) I thought that it was odd that she thought I lived a story book life but then I realized, a lot has happened in my life and although it's not significant to the rest of the world its significant to me and maybe it will make to be quite an interesting story so why not write a book about it?So here I am.?Again, as self centered as that sounds, its not meant to be I just wanted to write a book that someone will read and that maybe someone can relate to.Maybe one day you were standing in a Boarders or something and you were thinking about something happening in your life and this book was standing out to you.So you pick it up and read these first few pages and thought it sounded like something you might actually be interested in and you buy the book, go home, and start reading this book. You realize that my life isn't much different from yours, given that my life is far from normal but considerably average, you get something out of this book and it makes you think about your life more and maybe put some things in place.Show you what you've missed and maybe reveal the true meaning behind what has happened in the past couple of years. Now, I'm not saying that this book is going to be like the bible and change your life for the better and you will never be the same and that I should be worshiped for the words I wrote upon these pages, far from it.In fact I'm going to let you know right now that there is no hidden meaning in this book.If you take some meaning from the book then I'm glad to help you out but I'm not saying you should.I wrote this book only to write a book and to get my story out there. Now let me introduce myself. My name is Mike. That's pretty much it.The story of who I am is not nearly finished so until I know who I am, I can't explain it to you.The town I live in is your typical average suburban town filled with incredible people who have seen/done incredible things and then there's me. I'm a senior at the local high school, barley.I'm not exactly an A B student, more like an A F student.I'm barley skating by in life and between school and work I don't have a whole lot of free time but the time I do have free is time enough for something epic to happen.I work at a place that from now on I will refer to as the CBC.The CBC is quite an epic place to work.I started there as a dish washer when I was 16 and I'm still there only now I'm a cook.A lot of people have walked through the door of the CBC either looking for employment or looking to drink the problems of there own life away.

A lot of people have walked through the door of the CBC either looking for employment or looking to drink the problems of there own life away. The CBC is a micro brewery meaning we brew our own beers there. But aside from beer we also have amazing food, which I now cook. When I started cooking I didn't want to do it.It's annoying and tedious and complicated, very different from the simple world of dishwashing. But cooking has led me to be more involved and start to see the corruption that that place has become known for or at least as I've come to know it for.My boss is a drunk, so a brewery is a fitting place for him but he doesn't do a whole lot right except for yell at us and flirt with our bartenders, he's good at that.?The cast, as I've come to call them, of CBC is quite a melting pot of different culture and backgrounds and foregrounds and just plain lives in general. When I started there was an amazing cast of people working there. There was Andrew, the one that got me the job who also doubles as my best friend (you'll see his name a lot in this book so get used to it) next up comes Ian.There's a lot I COULD say about Ian, but I won't.There's not enough time to explain Ian.After Ian there's Marcie who I adore. When I started working at the CBC Marcie was like my mother, she took me under her wing and I am very thankful for that. She's amazing.Next is Connie whom I think is an amazing person. She comes off as a little mean but she really isn't.She just wants things to go right and the rules to be followed which is not hard to do but for some reason we all broke them, I think, only to break them.Connie is a lot of fun and smart too. She's seen it all!As of when I started that was the "brew crew" or at least that's what it said on our shirts. We were the people running behind the scenes, the kitchen staff, and the people I talked to the most.Although the crew was incredible it was the people out on stage that made the job worth it, starting with Patra.Words can not describe Patra simply because there's not a word that means "Beautiful complete bitch that doesn't care what you think while at the same time being the most compassionate person I've ever met."Patra was one of the funniest people there and by far the sweetest aside from Lana who is the next in line on the CBC lineup.Lana is from the Ukraine and if everyone over there is as amazing as her then I want to move there especially if they all cook the same foods as Lana.Lana is like a cat, she is sweet, cuddly, smart, and beautiful but at the same time has claws that could tear your heart out and sew it back in with one flick of the wrist. She's amazing. When I started there was one girl that stood out the most to me, that was Lorena.Lorena was from Albania, a country I don't know much about but I know they at least did one thing right, and that's her.She was a lot of fun and really nice and was always looking for a good time even when there wasn't one to be seen. She could make anything fun and I instantly fell in love with her (not literally fell in love with her but something sort of like that). Her and Kate would have some crazy stories to tell of there lives and now that I look back on it, they weren't so different.Kate was going to college to be a music teacher and was graduating the summer after I started. She was a lot of fun and really nice too but, like Lorena and Lana, she had her claws. These are the people you wouldn't mess with in fear of disgusting horrid things happening to you.I'm not saying they are bad people just that I wouldn't want to be stuck in a room with them and do something to piss them off. That wouldn't end well.Amber however was the opposite, she was sweet but she didn't have a bad side.In fact she seemed to be the one backed into the corner. The day I started, before I had met Lorena (actually this is how I met Lorena) amber came back to the kitchen and was all upset over something and then I heard this voice coming from behind me screaming something about "not owning the restaurant" and "needing to keep her legs closed before she scarred the world with yet another kid" (like I said, they have claws). The body behind the voice was Lorena and I don't think she was too happy with amber. That's when I learned that if it doesn't concern you, you should best not get involved because it can and will end badly. There are many more employees at The CBC that I didn't mention and for good reason (they'll come later in the story) so for now lets move on with the story.Given that aside from my name and where I work you really don't know much about me, I should probably go on with this story.Throughout this story you will learn more about me and my life and the people that influenced me and made me who I am today. The people mentioned now are just the people that were around when the story begins and since this is just a plot builder, we will call this section, the prologue.
